SmartTool Technologies is a division of M-D Building Products, which is headquartered in Oklahoma City, OK. SmartTool manufactures and sells innovative, rugged, measurement systems to end users and OEMs in automotive, medical, industrial and aerospace markets worldwide. We have an excellent reputation for high quality, precision products, for on-time deliveries, and for providing our customers with excellent, personalized service.
Founded in 1987 as Wedge Innovations, the company developed, manufactured, and marketed the SmartLevel© electronic digital level, which was sold primarily through hardware stores and home centers. In 1992, Wedge Innovations was acquired by Macklanburg-Duncan Company (M-D), the leader in contractor grade levels for 75 years. Wedge became a division of M-D and was renamed SmartTool Technologies.
SmartTool Technologies introduced the PRO 360 Digital Protractor and the ISU, OEM inclinometer in 1993. Based on customer demand, the more advanced, PRO 3600 Digital Protractor followed a year later in 1994.
